Being one of unique and Africa’s number one cultural festival annually held in rural areas while attracting thousands of local and international visitors, this is a never miss cultural festival on planet Earth.
The Haydom community welcomes the world to it’s highly praised cultural celebration in Africa. The event is held in rural Africa and brings together the four main language groups of the continent to celebrate their cultural values including the traditional artifacts shows, traditional dance performances and competition, cultural film shows, archery competitions, and half marathon just to mention a few. The event also gives visitors an opportunity to taste traditional cuisines, local beers & wines and share your life with local families in camping and professionally organized home-stay programmes
The main tribes that participate includes the Datoga representing the Nilotic group originally from Nile river, Central & Northern parts of Africa, Hadza representing the Khoisans from Eastern and Southern Africa, Iraqw representing the Cushites originally from the Horn of Africa and off-course the largest group of Bantu speaking tribes originally from West Africa been represented by Nyiramba, Nyisanzu and Wagogo just to mention a few
Tourists planning a trip to Northern Tanzania can perfectly include this on their itinerary when exploring popular parks like Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, Tarangire and Lake Manyara National parks without forgetting the majestic Ngorongoro crater.
While in Haydom visitors can embark on professionally organized cultural tours to the Land of Hadzabe-Yaeda Valley territory, visit Datoga, Iraqw and Bantu tribes (Nyisanzu & Nyiramba), explore the Rock art paints, Lake Bassotu (canoeing & fishing), Crater lakes, Mount Hanang, Mulbadow wheat farms, visit the Haydom hospital and the rest of the village.
